Applied Economic and Social Analysis (AppEcon) is innovative and interdisciplinary, and its graduates gain knowledge in economic and management sciences and other social disciplines (sociology, social philosophy, cultural studies, social psychology, social policy, ethics and political science).
The most important skills acquired during studies are identifying, analysing and understanding social determinants of economic phenomena and social effects of economic phenomena and processes. The graduate will be equipped with the ability to conduct mixed (quantitative-qualitative) research and to draw conclusions based on it.
Innovative teaching methods will be used as part of the classes (e.g. simulation games, design thinking, problem based learning, Oxford discussions) and we have introduced an innovative system of the organization of classes (workshops at the university and at the headquarters of cooperating institutions, semester seminars). During the classes students will use data based on real social and economic situations.
